I’ve often met highly competent people who believe that doing your job well is enough. That others will notice, and that’s it — word will spread that you’re a true professional. In an ideal world, maybe that would be the case. But today’s reality is very different: the information landscape is oversaturated, and if you don’t have a coherent narrative about who you are and what you do, you risk remaining invisible. Or worse, someone else might tell your story.

Strategic communication — PR — is not egocentric, and it’s not about boasting. It’s an act of responsibility toward what you do and toward those you want to connect with: clients, collaborators, communities. PR means being present, offering context and meaning, building relationships and trust.

Imagine being able to explain not just what you delivered, but why it matters and for whom, how it makes a difference, and what values lie behind your work. Imagine maintaining that connection with your audience — through questions, answers, and openness. That’s what can transform you from an option into a partner, from just another background voice into a relevant presence.

When done with integrity, ethics, and clarity, PR builds bridges between competence and perception. It helps you step out of anonymity through relevance, consistency, authenticity, and commitment. You become part of the conversations that matter — not just a spectator. It shows what drives you and how you respond in key moments.

And above all, stay alert, stay receptive, stay human. PR is not just about speaking; it’s also about listening, engaging, and being where it matters — in a way that is connected and meaningful.

In the end, I believe the message is clear and powerful: PR is the difference between “I know you exist” and “I want to work with you.” No matter how valuable your work is, without strategic communication you risk remaining an untapped potential — or even being forgotten.
